ABOUT THE TRAINING

Our 200 hour, Yoga Alliance certified training is an alignment based vinyasa teacher training that awakens mindfulness in asana and invites inner stillness. Our training enables graduates to adapt and apply a practice for any individual while being sensitive to the changing needs and opportunities of each class or person. This program is an extension of Greenhouse Holistic's commitment to nourish our community with the benefits of yoga.

Our Program will provide you with the skills to become a thoughtful yoga teacher as well as enable you to fully embrace a balanced life. Your Asana practice will transform through proper alignment, intelligent sequencing, and sustainable practices. Awaken your essence to clarity, insight and peace through meditation. Learn to align your nutrition and lifestyle through the wisdom of Ayurveda. Experience the art of asana adjustment through Thai massage and hands on adjustments. Deepen your understanding of yogic philosophy by studying the Yoga Sutras and the history of yoga. Sharpen your mind with Sanskrit chanting. Develop an awakened your body, heart and mind by engaging with the path of awareness.

In order to facilitate the transition from student to teacher, upon completion of the program, graduates have the valuable opportunity to assist in one of the core teachers classes for four months. This is a wonderful way for graduates to continue to hone their skills in hands on adjustments. In addition 6 graduates are selected for the special opportunity to teach community classes at Greenhouse immediately following graduation.

Not only does this training lead one on a journey inward, but it fosters one's ability to be present, to live a yoga life and to teach a vast scope of people. We are looking for enthusiastic applicants who are dedicated to spreading the light and love that the science of yoga makes available.

She is grateful for the guidance of her teachers, Dharma Mitra, Sarah Powers, Rodney Yee, Lisa Walford, Barbara Benagh, Mary Paffard, and Ramanand Patel. SUMMER QUASHIE Summer Quashie is trained in Hatha Yoga by Jeff Midgow, MD. She assisted in Prana Yoga teacher training and workshops with Jeff at Kripalu and in NYC from 2002-2006. From a dedicated home practice to experience in asana and meditation, the search for more understanding in meditation practices came. Since 2007, she has been practicing Tibetan Buddhism in the Palyul Tradition under the guidance of the kind Khenchen Tsewang Gyastso and attends annual month long retreats in upstate NY. Summer has studied philosophy through the YSI courses and continues to deepen her studies in Ayurveda and yogic philosophy. Summer is the founder of Sacred Shape Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, NYC's first Yoga Alliance certified 85hr prenatal training. She co-teaches and co-wrote Greenhouse Holistic's 200 hr teacher training and is honored to work closely with Leigh Evans.

As a lover of creativity, beauty and sacred geometry, Summer organizes classes with philosophical and heart warming themes. The asana presented are simple and clear, with space to be experienced fully. Humor is often embraced and a sacred space is created for participants to go beyond the physical.
