ABOUT THE TRAINING

Our 200 hour, Yoga Alliance certified training is an alignment based vinyasa teacher training that awakens mindfulness in asana and invites inner stillness. Our training enables graduates to adapt and apply a practice for any individual while being sensitive to the changing needs and opportunities of each class or person. This program is an extension of Greenhouse Holistic's commitment to nourish our community with the benefits of yoga.

Our Program will provide you with the skills to become a thoughtful yoga teacher as well as enable you to fully embrace a balanced life. Your Asana practice will transform through proper alignment, intelligent sequencing, and sustainable practices. Awaken your essence to clarity, insight and peace through meditation. Learn to align your nutrition and lifestyle through the wisdom of Ayurveda. Experience the art of asana adjustment through Thai massage and hands on adjustments. Deepen your understanding of yogic philosophy by studying the Yoga Sutras and the history of yoga. Sharpen your mind with Sanskrit chanting. Develop an awakened your body, heart and mind by engaging with the path of awareness.

In order to facilitate the transition from student to teacher, upon completion of the program, graduates have the valuable opportunity to assist in one of the core teachers classes for four months. This is a wonderful way for graduates to continue to hone their skills in hands on adjustments. In addition 6 graduates are selected for the special opportunity to teach community classes at Greenhouse immediately following graduation.

Not only does this training lead one on a journey inward, but it fosters one's ability to be present, to live a yoga life and to teach a vast scope of people. We are looking for enthusiastic applicants who are dedicated to spreading the light and love that the science of yoga makes available.

TEACHER BIOS:


LEIGH EVANS
Leigh Evans is a yoga teacher and dancer dedicated to awakening creativity and aliveness in the body. Leigh has been teaching yoga for 17 years. Her emphasis is on developing mindfulness through the yoga practice, inviting you to witness the shifting sensations of the body and attune to the inner unfolding of each asana. Since 1985, Leigh has practiced Hatha Yoga in the Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Viniyoga traditions in the U.S. and India. She is grateful for the guidance of her teachers, Dharma Mitra, Sarah Powers, Rodney Yee, Lisa Walford, Barbara Benagh, Mary Paffard, and Ramanand Patel. Leigh loves the practice of yoga for the peacefulness and clarity of mind that comes from the breath flowing freely in the body. TOBIAS FIELDS
Tobias Fields has been teaching yoga for over ten years and has taught in Europe, South America, Africa, the Caribbean as well as in Madagascar. His influences as a yogi include Astanga, Jivamukti, Vinyasa, Anusara and Contact Yoga, and most recently he received his certification in Iyengar Yoga. His teaching combines insights from his ever-evolving personal practice, his diverse background, and his commitment to be present and responsive to the constellation of each class, into an experience which is both challenging and fun.The many benefits of practicing with Tobias resonate long after class is over.


JULIANNA TAKACS
A student of yoga for the past decade, Julianna has taught since her certification in Prana yoga in 2004. She has studied extensively with her teachers, Ruth Lauer-Manenti, Jeff Migdow, Robyn Ross, and most recently with Sharath and Saraswathi in Mysore, India. With a background in movement and dance of more than 25 years, Julianna incorporates her acute knowledge of the body into carefully articulated guidance and support. In her classes she strives to bring awareness to our limitless potential through a deep connection to breath, the integration of yogic philosophy, chanting and guided meditation. Julianna's teaching methods are influenced by various styles including Vinyasa, Prana, Jivamukti, and Ashtanga, and her formal study of Sufism in the tradition of Hazrat Inayat Khan since 2002. The training includes membership to Greenhouse Holistic which includes unlimited classes during the training. Current members will freeze their membership when training begins.

The training cost includes program manual but not required reading books.
